The Origins
The Lee Side—the side sheltered from the prevailing wind. We are born for being outside.
Lee Side Mountain Research (L.S.M.R.) started producing goods in 2020 intended for backpacking and survival situations with a large focus on functionality, lightness and durability.
Our products are constructed in California and tested in mountains from the Sierras to the Peninsular Ranges. We have a penchant for using high quality Military Grade materials such as Type III Parachute Paracord and Patented AustriAlpin Cobra® quick release buckles. Minimal branding allows our products to seamlessly blend into any form of style – we aim to create focus driven goods that will last a lifetime.
COBRA STRENGTH
Our products feature patented AustriAlpin COBRA® quick release buckles machined from the highest grade 7075 aluminum alloy, solid brass, and stainless steel components. LSMRCO products feature 550 Paracord. Originally used in the suspension lines of US parachutes during World War II, this cord flexes but doesn’t break.
MILITARY GRADE
Paracord (also known as Parachute Cord) is a lightweight, nylon kernmantle (inner core protected by a woven outer sheath) rope originally used in the military for suspension lines in parachutes as well as many other purposes where cordage was needed. There are thousands of other uses for paracord including fishing line, survival gear, shoe laces, and so much more. 550 Paracord is one of the toughest, most dependable cords available. Beyond its 550-pound tensile strength and proven durability, the added qualities of being mold, mildew, rot and UV fade resistant makes it a top of the line rope.
